With this type of evidence it directly put Ridgeway at the scene of the crime (Baird). These paint samples were analyzed by many different types of microscopes including electron microscopes. The result from this new found evidence was that Ridgeway changed his plea to guilty admitting to all of the murders. Ridgeway also told police where he had dumped many bodies, so the police could find them and give their families closer.
